Pale Ice Registration
This is the "party game" that occurs on Saturday,
September 22nd for 30 players, taking place at a ski lodge in the
Swiss alps (actually a private home in St. Charles). This is NOT the
Whately-style game for 5-7 players--see below for that game.
Cost is $10, payable at the door.
Name anyone else signing up with whom you
wish to play:
So that we can appropriately cast you, please use 1 to 5 to indicate your level of interest in the following possible character

Is there any particular
character from the Bond books/movies that you are dying to play?
Do you have any costuming in
mind that you'd like us to take into consideration when casting you
for this game?
If You Are Registering for Both Games
Since there are 30 characters in Pale Ice , but only 5-7 in Black
Ice , obviously not all Pale Ice characters will be included
in Black Ice . For example, since the goal in Black Ice
is to Foil The Evil Mastermind(s)' Nefarious Plot, few if any of
the criminal or social butterfly characters from Pale Ice will
be possible to play in Black Ice.
If you are registering for both games, let us know how important it
is to you that you play the same character in both games:
I strongly prefer
playing the same character in both games, even if that means that I
can't get many of my preferences for Pale Ice.
I'd prefer playing
the same character in both games, but not at the expense of my
preferences for Pale Ice .
I don't care whether or
not I play the same character in both games.
Please note that it is entirely possible to play in either game
without playing in both.
Black Ice Registration
This is the Whately-style game for 5-7 players, taking place
every weekend in October and early November.
Cost is $20 for Fridays and
$25 for Saturdays ($10 for the playtest run on 10/5)
We encourage you to coordinate
your preferred play date with your friends before you register, so that we can spend our time on devising devious
devices instead of verifying groups' schedules ("Dick wants to play on
Friday with Jane, but Jane wants to play on Saturday with Spot, while Spot's got
a dog show that weekend and wants to play with Dick and Jane the following
weekend.").
* Note: The run scheduled for October 5th will be a playtest run. This is a form of dress rehearsal. The first run with real people
helps us fine-tune the game (the phrase "guinea pigs" comes to mind).

Depending on the answers to the following questions, your run may
or may not include a traitor--someone working against the team as
the team tries to foil the Evil Mastermind(s)' Nefarious Plan.
For female players only:
Over the years, Bond Girls have been everything from dingbats (Mary
Goodnight in The Man with the Golden Gun) to helpless bits of
fluff/damsels in distress (Kara Milovy in The Living Daylights
and Lupe Lamora in License to Kill) to nuclear scientists (Dr.
Christmas Jones in The World is Not Enough) to secret agents
(Jinx in Die Another Day) to cackling evil seductive assassins
(Xenia Onatopp in Goldeneye) .
Just as traitors are an optional element to this game, so are
helpless females. If you want to play a damsel in distress, please
check here:
[Note that you should not ask for the demolitions expert, etc., if you
want to play a helpless female.] The rest of the dramatic range of
competent Bond Girls is largely a matter of attitude.
Anything else we should know?
Bonus essay question:
Why NOT stir your martini?
Bonus essay question:
Please describe the features you would install in your Evil Mastermind's
Lair; in particular the details of any Death Traps.
(Required!) I understand that I will sign a waiver at the game and that Dig and Gail cannot guarantee that no accidents will happen during the game. I
am mature enough to deal with that, and I am over eighteen or have the approval of a parent.
